Hi, i’m Brandi! I am an illustrator & designer from the Midwest. I have been working as a freelance artist since earning my BA in Graphic Design & Fine Art in 2008. Although my main gig is in graphic design, traditional art has always been my true love. My current fine art medium is contemporary hand embroidery. Individual stitches come together to create beautiful figurative compositions in thread.
My works focus is the human female figure, because I am a woman, I understand women and I enjoy creating work that represents what I know.
My works focus is the human female figure, because I am a woman, I understand women and I enjoy creating work that represents what I know. I have deconstructed the body to symbolize that we are all made up by the sum of our individual parts and experiences; and to represent the mechanical/doll aspect of the way humans seem to gravitate toward a similar path and how they struggle to break free of what society considers “normal.”
Flora, botanicals & sometimes fauna envelop my figures, as we are surrounded by nature and organic design elements appear randomly representing the chaos that surrounds all of us.
