I hit a tiny, tiny bump in the road on my embroidery journey. Just when I felt like I my style was coming into focus, my arm is in wicked pain!
Apparently, my embroidery was putting strain on my arm muscles and causing me numbness and pain. The issue was trying to work heavy yarn through the extra tiny holes in tightly weaved cotton. Every stitch was a bit of a struggle.
No worries though, I found a loose weave linen that allows the yarn to easily glide through it’s weave, so I can move still create cool work with awesome texture BUT
When the weave is large enough for yarn, it is too big for the tiny strands of DMC floss that use to create the thin lines of the face. It just doesn’t work.
I came up with a more abstract way to work that I actually really like. The piece above was originally a painting that I did in 2015.
So, we move forward!
